  1. Chaturika, as you correctly mentioned motivated employees will stay in employment for longer periods and their absenteeism rates will be low.
Prof. Singh & Tiwari (2011) in the study of Motivation and its relationship to Job satisfaction. emphasized that "One of the main reasons for this turnover may be because of their lack of Motivation and commitment for the organization'.
Therefore if any organization wants to keep their employee turnover rates low it is important that they maintain a motivated workforce by providing them with motivators which could be financial or non financial.

  3. Job satisfaction is a fulfilling or optimistic expression consequential of the consideration of one’s activity (Azash et al, 2011). Organizations today have realized the importance of motivated and satisfied employees as important contributors towards long term objectives. It has made organizations to cater to the expectations and needs of the employees and could expect the similar response. Motivation also positively influences performance at individual and group level ultimately affecting the organizational performance (Risambessy et al 2012).

    1. Agreed Naomi. Also The most widely accepted theory of job satisfaction was proposed by Locke (1976), who defined job satisfaction as “a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one’s job or job experiences”. As per Bernstein & Nash (2008) Job satisfaction has emotional, cognitive, and behavioral components. The emotional component refers to job-related feelings such as boredom, anxiety, acknowledgement and excitement. The cognitive component of job satisfaction pertains to beliefs regarding one's job whether it is respectable, mentally demanding / challenging and rewarding. Finally, the behavioral component includes people's actions in relation to their work such as tardiness, working late, faking illness in order to avoid work.

  4. To the question why organizations need motivated employees? I found in a literature review where, Grant's (2008) study summerised your content as that, motivation enforced the employee outcomes such as perseverance, productivity and performance. Besides, motivated employees were found to be more self-disciplined and more autonomy-oriented than those who are less motivated.

  7. Dear Chaturika, According to Varma, (2017) It is also important for enterprises to prevent the loss of performing personnel owing to declining job satisfaction and a lack of motivation to stay with the firm for an extended period of time. Motivated and pleased employees will take a committed approach to company goals; in turn, companies must take a similar approach to employee goals and HR's duty here is to work consistently to connect the employee's aspirations with the organization's aims. Varma, (2017).
